HINTS AND TIPS
  > General Advice for Snowboarders seeking confort.

What to wear
• Ski gloves or mittens
• Warm hat (50% of your body heat escapes through your head)
• Ski socks (non cotton and not too thick)
• Ski jacket or wind and waterproof jacket.
• Ski pants or waterproof over trousers
• Good quality sun glasses or goggles preferably UV Category 4.
• High factor sun screen
• Goggles are helpful on days that are especially cold or windy.
Its best the use the multi layered approach with a thermal under layer and a couple of fleece layers which can be stripped off if you get too warm

Highly recommend are wrist guards (wrist injuries are more likely with beginner snowboarders), knee pads to help for safety and comfort and back side pad (or place a thick hat in your pants to keep your tail bone padded and comfortable)

Make sure your ‘outerwear’ is wind and water resistant. Jeans or jogging pants are not recommended. Staying dry is the key to staying warm.

Don't leave home without your passport
Make sure that there are several empty pages left on it for entrance and exit stamps, it can be a hassle to have them added on if you run out. It's always a good idea to make a copy or two of your passport before you leave - in case you lose it.

If you’re thinking of doing a season on the slopese season or just after New Year
• Take some entertainment to save you from cabin fever when the weathers bad.
• If you are travelling by yourself around the European resorts, the best option is to buy a Euro-rail Pass. This pass gives you almost unlimited access to most of the trains in Europe. Eurorail Passes can be purchased from most reputable travel agents around the world. If you are travelling with a group of friends of three or more and are planning to stay in Europe for more than 17 days then, contrary to expectation, it is actually cheaper to rent a car.
Are you thinking of Trying Kite Boarding?
• Give yourself plenty of space. The lines are about 30 meters (90 feet) long and the kite can drag you a lot further than that in no time. You don't want to be flung into rocks, trees, buildings or barbed wire.
• Use a quick release and wrist leash.
• This sport attracts big groups of onlookers. People always try to walk up to offer help or ask questions especially little kids. Watch out for people.
• Your lines have a lot of tension on them too and can cause damage. Make sure you don't get your fingers caught in them or let a bystander get between you and the kite.
• It is best performed on level surfaces such as snowy plains and frozen lakes. Mountainous areas have very irregular wind gusts making it harder and more dangerous.
Are you thinking of Trying Mountain Boarding?
• The mountain board is larger than a skate board with 4 large inflatable wheels on suspensions. Some don’t have brakes.
•Helmets, knee and elbow pads are essential, it’s probably best to pad where ever possible.
